REPORTS
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED VEHICLE, 2021-09260188, Columbia Pike at S. Monroe Street. At approximately 8:41 p.m. on September 25, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. A lookout was broadcast and officers located the suspect in the 3500 block of Columbia Pike. The investigation determined that the victim was driving in the area when the male suspect, who was on foot, blocked his passage. The victim honked his horn to alert the suspect and as he was driving past, the suspect threw a beverage through the window, striking the victim in the head. The victim declined medical treatment and sustained minor injuries. Dawit Tsegaye, 38, of Silver Spring, Md., was arrested and charged with Throwing Missiles at Occupied Vehicles. He was also served with an outstanding warrant out of Alexandria.
BURGLARY (late), 2021-09260115, 3000 block of 10th Street N. At approximately 2:34 p.m. on September 26, police were dispatched to the late report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined that the unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry inside the victim’s storage unit. No entry was made inside and no items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
PEEPING, 2021-09250213, 3000 block of S. Randolph Street. At approximately 10:07 p.m. on September 25, police were dispatched to the report of a peeping. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female victim was inside her residence when she noticed the male suspect walking past and looking into her windows. Approximately 15 minutes later, she observed the male suspect directly outside her window looking into her residence. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of police. The suspect is described as a White male with a heavier build, approximately 40 to 50 years old, 6’0” tall. The investigation is ongoing.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES (SIGNIFICANT), 2021-09240193, 1300 block of N. Stafford Street. At approximately 8:15 p.m. on September 24, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers met with the juvenile witness who stated that she was walking in the area when she observed the unknown male subject brandish what appeared to be a firearm towards another individual. The witness immediately left the area and police were notified. Responding officers checked the area with negative results. The subject is described as a Black male with short dread locks and blonde tips. He was wearing a pullover hoodie and black sweatpants at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
