Man gets 30 days in jail for indecent exposure

FITCHBURG — Police were called to the parking lot of Market Basket on Water Street last week for a report of a man yelling and harassing customers and pedestrians, according to police.

When the police arrived, they found John Garcia, 59, leaning against a wall, they reported.

As the responding officer attempted to talk to Garcia, he walked away from the officer into the parking lot and urinated in an empty parking space, the officer reported.

Garcia was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, according to court documents.

When arraigned Thursday, the disorderly conduct violation was dismissed and Garcia pleaded guilty to indecent exposure and was sentenced to 30 day in the Worcester County House of Correction, according to court documents.

City man arraigned for stealing equipment from local business

FITCHBURG — After an investigation, police summonsed a city man to District Court on Thursday on charges related to the theft of two chainsaws from a local tree and landscaping service company, according to court and police documents.

Police said William M. McKenna, 40, of Maryanna Drive, entered Beaulac Brothers Landscaping, located on Bemis Road, and broke open a tool box and stole two Stihl chainsaws, valued at $3,300, on the night of Dec. 28.

McKenna then took the chainsaws to a local pawn shop and was paid $250 for both. He was photographed using his identification to complete the transaction, police said.

As a result, McKenna was charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny over $1,500 and larceny under $1,200 by false pretense, according to court documents.

When arraigned Thursday, McKenna was ordered held in lieu of posting a $500 cash bail or $5,000 surety bond and return to court on March 19 for a pretrial hearing.

Pair arrested on drug distribution charge

FITCHBURG — Two people were arrested on a drug dealing charge last week after a State Police Trooper stopped the car they were in because its window had too dark of a tint, according to police and court documents.

The trooper was on patrol in the area of Crawford Street last Friday when she spotted the Hyundai sedan with tinted windows that was possibly a “be on the lookout” vehicle, police said, because one of its occupants had allegedly been seen with a handgun in the vehicle.

When the trooper stopped the Hyundai, its driver, Sabrina T. Moyen, 27, of Pine Acres Road, Lunenburg, handed over her driver’s license and registration, the trooper said.

The passenger told the trooper he didn’t have any identification, but provided a name that there was no record of in the State Police computer database, said the trooper.

Moyen was moving around in the driver’s seat and suddenly reached into the pocket of the passenger’s pants, pulling out a plastic bag out with something orange inside, said the trooper.

Moyen then ordered the driver to keep her hands on the steering wheel and called for back up, the trooper said.

While waiting for the additional officers, the man in the passenger seat told the officer his name was Nathaniel C. Boddie, 26, of Beekman Street, Fitchburg.

When back-up officers arrived, Moyen and Boddie were taken from the car and placed under arrest, said the trooper.

The trooper located the plastic bag Moyen had taken from Boddie and discovered 25 orange pills. When Boddie was pat frisked, an additional 25 orange pills were found. The pills were in individual bags of five, totaling 50. The pills were Adderall, which is an amphetamine.

As a result, Moyen and Boddie were both charged with possession to distribute a Class B drug, according to court documents.

Moyen was also cited for no inspection sticker and nontransparent window obstruction, according to the trooper.

When arraigned last week, Moyen was released on personal recognizance, and was ordered to stay drug free and return to court on March 19 for a pretrial hearing, according to court documents.

Boddie was ordered held in lieu of posting a $2,000 cash bail or $20,000 surety bond, must remain drug free and return to court on March 19 for a pretrial hearing.
